In 2015, six companies set out to explore decision making as a strategy for accelerating safety performance improvement. The resultant study examined over 600 decisions from various levels inside and outside their organizations. It shed new light on the types of decisions that are important to SIF prevention, the ways they are connected, and the unexpected impacts that they have. Since then we have partnered with dozens of organizations to understand and improve leadership decision making with the goal of preventing SIFs while strengthening business results.
