SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Safety Leadership to prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities
DESCRIPTION:Join this webinar\, organised by SÄKU (Swedish Safety Culture Network). \nDuring the webinar\, Filip Coumans will\, together with Craig Henderson\, global EHS Director of the pharmaceutical giant GSK\, present how they have worked with Safety Leadership to reduce and prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF) in practice. \nAs a follow up to February’s webinar\, Filip Coumans from Krause Bell Group will\, together with Craig Henderson\, global EHS Director of the pharmaceutical giant GSK\, present what they have done to reduce and prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF) in practice. An important component was the roll-out of a Safety Leadership Experience for all their leaders globally\, touching on 3 key components: \n\n\nSafety Leadership Core: what do leaders need to know and apply in their day to day activities to have a meaningful impact on SIF exposure. \n\n\nMeaningful Safety Conversations: how to have a constructive conversation and gather relevant information on SIF Precursors. \n\n\nSafe Decision Making® module\, enhancing decision making relevant to SIF precursors. \n\n\n Craig and Filip will cover various elements: \n\n\nhow they started\, \n\n\nthe successes and challenges during the roll-out\, \n\n\nwhat are some results of the overall approach. \n\n\nWhat are next steps? \n\n\nAbout GSK: GSK (acronym of GlaxoSmithKline) is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical company with over 70 000 employees in over 75 countries. The main four core therapeutic areas include infectious diseases\, HIV\, respiratory/immunology and oncology. The headquarter is located in London. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange. \nAbout Craig Henderson: Craig Henderson is the Global EHS Director at GSK. Craig has 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. An Industrial Chemist that has spent most of his professional career working in high hazard facilities and has accumulated over 15 years of experience in Environment\, Health and Safety. Craig’s current focus is on improving Safety Leadership and the overall management of SIF activities across GSK. \nThe event is free of charge for members of Säkerhetskulturnätverket (SÄKU). The webinar is also open to non-SÄKU members. For non-SÄKU members the ticket fee is 1 500 SEK plus VAT per attendee.  \nRegister here

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: 7 Insights Into Safety Leadership April 4\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join us Friday\, April 4\, 2025 for a free Webinar on the 7 Insights into Safety Leadership. \n \n10 years ago\, Tom Krause and Kristen Bell wrote 7 Insights into Safety Leadership based on their collective 60 years of experience in organizational safety leadership. The 7 Insights were developed based on several landmark research studies and thousands of hours spent on-site consulting with organizations around the world. \nIn this webinar\, David Libby and Ellis Jones will discuss each of the 7 Insights\, highlighting the models that support each of them and sharing real-world examples of each of them in action. \n\nSafety performance leads business performance.\nSafety leadership starts with preventing serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs).\nLeadership sets safety improvement in motion.\nCulture sustains performance – for better or for worse.\nDecision making is built on core safety concepts.\nBehavior plays a role\, but a different one than expected.\nCognitive bias affects safety decisions.\n\nWhether you want to learn about the 7 Insights for the first time or are a long-time fan of the book\, this webinar is a great way to help you refine\, augment\, and optimize your 2025 safety strategies. \n“7 Insights into Safety Leadership provides leaders with a compelling roadmap\, based on data\, that can and will eliminate serious incidents and fatalities\, and at the same time will significantly improve operational and financial performance.” – Jeff Hedges\, former General Manager\, Operational Excellence\, Chevron Corporation. \nDavid and Ellis will answer participant questions at the end of their presentation. Please feel free to submit any questions you have when you register. \nPlease Note: This event is specifically designed for safety leaders who are working to eliminate Serious Injuries and Fatalities within their organizations. We respectfully request that independent consultants and employees of safety consulting firms not participate in this event.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR - The SIF Reduction Mechanism - What you need to do to prevent fatalities
DESCRIPTION:Join Martin Dean and Thomas Meier as they discuss the SIF Reduction Mechanism – What you need to do to prevent fatalities \nRegister here: “SIF Reduction Mechanism – What you need to do to prevent fatalities” \nThe 2010 study on Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs)\, led by dr. Thomas Krause\, demonstrated that only a small subset of all accidents have the potential to result in a SIF event. This principle is by now often referenced to as the triangle within the triangle. Additionally\, we have learned that the precursors to SIFs differ significantly from those associated with minor incidents. \nAt Krause Bell Group\, our work on SIF prevention starts with the fundamental premise: if we want to prevent fatalities\, we must reduce SIF exposure. Any effort we undertake—whether through training\, standards\, EHS systems\, or leadership development—will only be effective if it reduces or eliminates SIF exposure. However\, achieving this is easier said than done. Culture\, leadership behaviours and decisions have a profound impact. \nCulture – the way we do things around here – “eats strategy for breakfast\,” and often reduces the effectiveness of these initiatives significantly. While leaders often want to do the right thing\, they frequently lack the knowledge or tools to act effectively. \nLeaders often fail to fully grasp how their behaviors and decisions influence not just systems\, but also the surrounding context and organizational culture. They may not recognize how these systems\, contexts\, and cultures shape employee behaviors\, nor do they receive sufficient feedback on SIF exposures and the broader systems and culture to inform their future decision. \nHow can we fix this and implement a systematic\, effective process to strategically reduce risk? Leaders must first develop a thorough understanding of the key risks within their areas of responsibility. They also need to recognize how their decisions impact those risks and take deliberate action to address them. \nDuring this webinar we will present the above background and explain how the Krause Bell Group SIF Reduction mechanism works in practice. \nPlease Note: This event is specifically designed for safety leaders who are working to eliminate Serious Injuries and Fatalities within their organizations. We respectfully request that independent consultants and employees of safety consulting firms not participate in this event.
