SUMMARY:ONLINE DISCUSSION: The 6 steps to prevent serious incidents
DESCRIPTION:Join Filip Coumans and Thomas Meier for this online discussion on March 12th at 11AM CET.\nRegister here: “The 6 steps to prevent serious incidents” \nThe 2010 study on Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs)\, led by dr. Thomas Krause\, demonstrated that only a small subset of all accidents have the potential to result in a SIF event. This principle is by now often referenced to as the triangle within the triangle. Additionally\, we have learned that the precursors to SIFs differ significantly from those associated with minor incidents. \nAt Krause Bell Group\, our work on SIF prevention starts with the fundamental premise: if we want to prevent fatalities\, we must reduce SIF exposure. Any effort we undertake—whether through training\, standards\, EHS systems\, or leadership development—will only be effective if it reduces or eliminates SIF exposure. However\, achieving this is easier said than done. Culture\, leadership behaviours and decisions have a profound impact. \nCulture – the way we do things around here – “eats strategy for breakfast\,” and often reduces the effectiveness of these initiatives significantly. While leaders often want to do the right thing\, they frequently lack the knowledge or tools to act effectively. \nLeaders often fail to fully grasp how their behaviors and decisions influence not just systems\, but also the surrounding context and organizational culture. They may not recognize how these systems\, contexts\, and cultures shape employee behaviors\, nor do they receive sufficient feedback on SIF exposures and the broader systems and culture to inform their future decision. \nHow can we fix this and implement a systematic\, effective process to strategically reduce risk? Leaders must first develop a thorough understanding of the key risks within their areas of responsibility. They also need to recognize how their decisions impact those risks and take deliberate action to address them. \nDuring this webinar we will discuss 6 steps leaders should follow to prevent serious incidents. The discussion will take place with a small group of senior safety and operational leaders. \nSeats are limited! \nPlease Note: This event is specifically designed for safety leaders who are working to eliminate Serious Injuries and Fatalities within their organizations. We respectfully request that independent consultants and employees of safety consulting firms not participate in this event.   \nOnline discussion – “The 6 steps to prevent serious incidents”

SUMMARY:WEBINAR - The Role of Organizational Culture in Safety Improvement
DESCRIPTION:Join Filip Coumans and Thomas Meier as they discuss the role that organizational culture plays in safety improvement.\nRegister here \nThere is a lot of talk about safety culture. But it raises often more questions than answers: \n– What do we mean by safety culture?\n– Why is it important?\n– How is the safety culture different from organisational culture?\n– How do you change culture? \nWe will be answering these and many more questions during this webinar. \nPlease Note: This event is specifically designed for safety leaders who are working to eliminate Serious Injuries and Fatalities within their organizations. We respectfully request that independent consultants and employees of safety consulting firms not participate in this event.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: The Safe Decision Making® Methodology
DESCRIPTION:Curious to learn how to get executive support for your strategy to prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF)? Do you want to know more about who impacts the occurrence of SIF events and what you can do to further improve? \n \nSÄKU (Swedish Safety Culture Network) has invited Krause Bell Group to present our perspective based on our 2015 study focused on better understanding how decisions at all levels within the organization impact SIF events. Filip Coumans will share the principles of the Safe Decision Making® Methodology\, as well as the results of our research into 60 actual serious injuries and fatalities across 6 multinationals. \nThe presentation will review: \n\nWho (what level) in the organization makes decisions that impact SIF events?\nWhen are those decisions made relative to the time of the accident?\nHow do decisions break down?\nWhat types of cognitive bias influence decision-making?\n\nFilip will also discuss Krause Bell Group’s experience using this methodology and the additional findings as the database has grown to include more than 300 SIF events\, and close to 5\,000 decisions from 43 organizations in 39 countries. \nThis webinar is open to the public\, but SÄKU charges a fee for non-members to attend. \nhttps://en.säku.se/events/safe-decision-making-r-findings-with-filip-coumans-krause-bell-group \n
