  • Ellis is a seasoned business leader skilled in guiding global organizations, advising executives, and fostering high-performance teams for sustainable success. Throughout his career, Ellis excelled in revitalizing underperforming teams and operations, leveraging his leadership, business acumen, and diverse competencies to drive consistent business improvement.
  • As Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for a global tire and rubber manufacturer, Ellis led the integration of sustainability into the company’s strategy. He developed their sustainability framework, resulting in the creation of the company’s first sustainable material tire and rapid sustainability maturity. Additionally, Ellis oversaw environmental, health, safety, and business continuity, guiding the company through a safety culture transformation focused on the elimination of serious injuries. Ellis also led the company through the COVID-19 pandemic. During this unprecedented time, Ellis’ leadership was recognized for its impact on operational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Before his role as VP and CSO for the global tire and rubber manufacturer, Ellis served as Manufacturing Director for race tire operations, achieving a 55% earnings improvement through lean operational strategies. His leadership, guided by operational excellence principles, earned recognition from the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), resulting in the organization receiving the AME Excellence Award.
  • Ellis’ early career for the global tire and rubber manufacturer includes leading finance and accounting teams across various functions and businesses including manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain and the commercial tire business. Ellis provided strong financial leadership and fostered a high-performance culture within his teams.
  • Ellis also serves on several boards. Currently, he serves an Independent Director for Metallus Inc. (NYSE: MTUS) and TPC Group (privately held Chemical Company). At Metallus, he is a member of the Nominating & Governance and Audit Committees, and at TPC Group, he is a member of the Safety & Environmental and Audit Committees. Previously, Ellis served as an Independent Director for Arconic Corp (NYSE: ARNC), where he was a member of the Compensation & Benefits and Nominating & Governance Committees before its acquisition by Apollo.
  • A sought-after keynote speaker on leadership, safety, operational excellence, and sustainability, Ellis holds a BS in Accounting from Hampton University and a Masters in Operational Excellence from Ohio State University. Ellis earned his coaching credentials from Case Western Reserve University.
