Sylvester Mayo is a seasoned management consultant, author, mediator, educator, and leadership strategist with more than three decades of experience helping individuals and organizations reinvent how they lead, operate, and grow. His work blends behavioral science with real-world industry expertise, guiding leaders across rail, aviation, trucking, oil and gas, manufacturing, and utilities toward safer systems, stronger cultures, and higher-performing teams.

Before entering consulting, Sylvester spent thirty years in heavy manufacturing, where he developed Rapid Intervention Teams that increased operational uptime from 68 to 92 percent. His early journey as a steelworker, labor leader, and Vice President of the Virginia AFL-CIO shaped his deep understanding of leadership, communication, and reinvention under pressure.

In the consulting arena, Sylvester has become a trusted advisor known for his practical approach, deep listening, and ability to create lasting transformation. A former U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant with fifteen years of service, he brings discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment into every space he serves.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Averett University and a Master of Divinity from Euohn Christian College, and is a certified mediator, family counselor, and volunteer firefighter.
