Join Filip Coumans, Thomas Meier and European colleagues for an online discussion on organizational decision making, safety culture and fatality prevention.
Senior leaders frequently tell us of their concern for Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIFs). They feel frustrated when investigations reveal they have a culture in which people don’t follow procedures designed to protect them. It’s common for them to say, “What was that person thinking?” and then ask, “What should we be doing to create a culture that protects our people from serious and fatal events?”
Many leaders are unable to see the connection between decisions they make today and incidents that happen years from now, causing harm to an operator in a plant or an engineer in the field. We at Krause Bell Group have accumulated over 5 years’ of data on the connections between leadership decision-making and SIF events. The resulting insights and innovations are helping leaders at all levels understand what they need to do differently to improve the culture and protect people.
Join us at our next “Insights Café” online discussion to learn more about our research in this area and the implications for leaders in your organization.
