The types of safety data available today and the tools for analyzing it are changing at a rapid pace. In this video, Dr. Tom Krause and Kristen Bell have a discussion about the evolving role that data is playing in organizational safety.
Aidan O'Donnell says
Fully agree with the insights, there are a range of data sources currently available to help guide our safety programmes that were not there a couple of years back, some of these are very simple, For example we now have active traffic management signage at our sites that provide data on number of and time of speed exceedances which occur daily and our Forklift trucks actively monitor and log minor uncontrolled collisions. This provides objective data which we can interrogate and trend and ultimately use to identify where to focus our efforts……there are lots more examples. As EHS professionals we need to continually ask ourselves what is the problem we are trying to fix? and in my mind the answer needs to be data based
